I’m Emily — the heart and soul behind Emily Cathey Photography. My faith is the foundation of everything I do. I believe that every story is part of a bigger one — full of grace, purpose, and beauty worth remembering — and I’m so incredibly grateful for each person the Lord has placed into my life and in front of my camera.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to the quiet in-between moments — the ones that slip by unnoticed unless you're paying close attention. The way a hand lingers a little longer, the way golden light wraps around a laugh, the way love shows up in glances, gestures, and gentle stillness. That’s what led me here.
I was the girl in high school who always had a camera in hand, chasing stories through a lens. That quiet passion turned into a BFA in Photography from Sam Houston State University — and eventually into this lifelong pursuit of preserving what matters most: how it felt.
I photograph love in all its forms — the just-begun and the decades-deep. Weddings, families, motherhood, connection. My approach is slow and intentional, rooted in presence. I want you to feel seen, known, and at ease — so we can document not just how this season looked, but how it lived. How it felt.
Because these aren’t just photos. They’re soulful keepsakes — memory markers for the ones who never want to forget.
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll likely find me with a coffee in hand, reading a book, crafting, going on a run, or spending slow, golden-hour evenings with my husband and our dog, Lady — always grateful for the beauty in the everyday.
